Bulgarian co Balma to develop residential project near Sozopol

Local company Balma plans to build a new residential complex near the village of Rosen, in the coastal Sozopol municipality, near Burgas city.
The size of the future development, dubbed Green City by the developer, has prompted the Sozopol municipality to launch procedures for the update of the region's masterplan which could result in the grating of a population center status.
There are two scales on which the project could be developed: with a footprint of 340 ha or 200 ha. Balma has so far bought a total of 98 ha.
Under the larger scale option, the developer will initially build hotels, residences, sports and entertainment venues and utility facilities; that will be followed by the construction of a second sports center and a school; the next stage of the project will allow private developers to build up large tracts of land; the final stage envisages the gentrification of the civic center and the development of a villa zone. Over the longer-term, Balma plans a Safari theme park and a golf course.
The selection of the larger scale option for the project will probably mean it will ingest the adjacent Rosen village.
The smaller scale option is conceived as a typical golf development with a hotel and a clubhouse. The complex will have 2,957 apartment units and 376 hotel beds.
