The
International Chamber Theatre Festival `The Black Box` is held every
year in the town of Plovdiv – Bulgaria. It lasts for a week from 25th
June to 30th of June.
The organizer of the festival is the `Black
Box` Foundation, working in partnership with the Municipality of
Plovdiv, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, the
Municipality Institute `Old Plovdiv` and the Cultural Centre `Trakart`.
The exclusive format of the festival includes mono-performances and chamber plays both from Bulgaria and abroad.
Emancipated,
receptive and ready to support challenging young artists, the festival
is open to all forms of theatrical expression – from antique drama to
experimental theatre.
Performances
are held on the open stage set in the Hindlijan House – one of the most
beautiful houses of the Bulgarian Revival Period, situated in the Old
City of Plovdiv - the artistic heart of the town.
