The fifth edition of
"Europe is Here" Film Festival opens in Plovdiv, June 22 to 26, 2009, at the Geo Milev movie theater.
20
movies, 5 documentaries, 4 animation fils and 5 student productions
will be participating in the 5-day program of the film fest. Tickets
will be sold outside Plovdiv Municipality and at the theater's box
office.
Siela Publishing House and Trakart Culture Center invite you to the premiere of
"Concise History of the Airplane" , a book of short stories by Zachary Karabashliev, June 12, 6.30 PM, at the Trakart Center.
Zachary
Karabashliev is author of novels, short stories, essays and plays. One
of his novels, "18% Grey" was nominated for the Helikon Flower Award,
as one of the 12 most sold books nominated by the Helikon Publishing
House.

The 45th edition of the International Chamber Music Festival opens in
Plovdiv on June 10, in the Plovdiv Ethnography Museum in the Old Town.
The
event, whose history features performances by eminent Bulgarian
composers and musicians, is among the most prestigious music festivals
in Plovdiv and Bulgaria.
Six Plovdiv artists are opening a
joint exhibition at the Boviel Art Gallery in Plovdiv, June 9, 6 PM: Nikola Pevicharov, Atanas Karadechev, Matey Mateev, Itsko Maznev, Vlado Damianov and Peter Beliashki.
