Exhibition at the Sariev Art Gallery



Sariev Art Gallery - Plovdiv presents an exhibition of works by Ivanka Sokerova (1926 - 1973). The exhibition features plastics, drawings and colage works.

The artist Dimiter Kirov died last night

 

Last night died one of Plovdiv great artists - Dimiter Kirov, known also as DiKiro. He was 73.

He was born on May 20, 1935 in Istanbul, Turkey. He graduated from the Art Academy in Sofia in 1955, in the Monumental and Decorative Painting class of Prof. Bogdanov.

Independence Day - Sept.22



US Congress resolution congratulates Bulgaria on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of our Independence Day - September 22, 1908, when the Kingdom of Bulgaria declared its independence from the Ottoman Empire. 

The resolution also refers to Bulgaria during WW2 and the saving of 50,000 Bulgarian Jews, as well as to Bulgaria's joining NATO and the European Union and the stability in the Balkan region.
